Orchids

Post by virtualheb » 15 Jun 2014, 18:02

Hi all

The orchids today were out in all their splendour, at Scalpay, Flodabay and Scarista in Harris, just stunning, here are a few photos
There are two photos of orchids seen at Flodobay - I think I am correct in saying that it is a Hebridean Spotted Orchid????
One of an orchid at Scarista - Harris - an early marsh orchid if I am correct?
Another the purple is maybe a Nothern Marsh Orchid??

I think the bottom 2 photos are Heath Spotted Orchid but not sure about the first two from the photos.

I would agree with Paul that the last two are Heath-spotted Orchid.
You identification of the other two is probably correct, but it is always difficult to be sure from a single photograph.
